The Iron Duke class of four Super Dreadnoughts began to join the Grand Fleet just at the beginning of WW1. Weighing in at 29,000 tons they were very similar in appearance to the preceding King George V class. They mounted 10 x 13.5 " guns in five center-line turrets with a secondary armament of hull mounted 6" guns.
The class comprised of Iron Duke ( fleet flagship),Marlborough, Benbow and Emperor of India. Together they formed the 2nd battle squadron and were all present at the Battle of Jutland.
