The Israeli Armed Forces adopted the British Centurion tank back in the 1960's renaming it the Sho't ( Whip) . The tank was fitted with a diesel engine in place of the existing petrol engine and with a modified fire control system.
The tank served successfully in the 1967 and 1973 war despite it suffering greatly with the advent of the new lightweight ATGW on the battlefield
