HMS Caroline was ( is ) an early war C-Class cruiser, which in turn spawned the Cambrian and Calliope sub classes, and is the only survivor of the massive Battle of Jutland.of 1916 She was completed in December 1914 and sported a 3" armour belt. Caroline was a fast ship and could make 28.5 knots . Armed with initially with a mixture of 4" and 6" guns and carrying 4 torpedo tubes making her a match for any German cruiser she might come across.
Almost a derelict after WW2 she was rediscovered and thanks to lottery funding she can be seen as a visitor attraction in Belfast harbour near to the Titanic exhibition hall.
