The Cromwell was arguably the most successful British designed tank of WW2. The Mark IV was fitted with the proven Merlin aero engine giving it a high top speed and its Christie type suspension gave a smooth ride. Armed with either a 75 or 77 mm gun and a reasonable armour package the Cromwell served all through the NW Europe campaign.
